Thermocouple

Thermocouple thermometers and probes measure over a wide temperature range and respond fast, which makes them the standard choice for cooking, processing and HVAC work. This collection covers Type K meters and the probes that go with them — needle, penetration, surface, air and oven probes from Cooper-Atkins, Comark and others.

A thermocouple joins two dissimilar metals; the voltage across that junction changes with temperature, and the meter converts it to a reading. Type K is the common standard here, and one meter will take any Type K probe with a matching connector — so you can build up a set of probes around a single instrument.
